I did a DNA on new dog Misha. So far they seem fairly accurate! I had thought some boxer in her, but it came back American Staffordshire Terrier purebred one parent, the other parent Giant Schnauzer/Dogue de Bordeaux mix!
Her temperament fits all of these.
But, don't know how common Dogue de Bordeaux's are around here. Or maybe she started at another shelter elsewhere.
Anyway, she is very calm-gentle- muscular-protective-loyal.

I've wondered about those canine Dna tests & how accurate they are. A friend did one one her Aussie & it came back correct. She did one on her Pit and it was all over the place. Granted, he was a rescue (off the street), bit one look at him & his temperament.... you knew what the vast majority was. He came back as Lab & Terrier. Ok, Pit is a Terrier....but Lab???? nope, no way unless it was WAYYYYYYY back! Since that was right after the tests were available, they've more than likely expanded their databases.
